My name is Maaike van Dijk. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Baroque violin at the Amsterdam Conservatory under Antoinette Lohmann. I also completed my bachelor’s degree in classical violin at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Janet Krause, where I also took a minor in Baroque violin with Walter Reiter.
I play both the Baroque violin and the classical violin. I also enjoyed playing in the Netherlands Youth String Orchestra for over three years. In addition to a wonderful modern bow from the Musical Instrument Fund, I also have a beautiful Baroque violin on loan. The instrument was built by Hubert de Launay, a copy of a Hendrik Jacobs model.
