My name is Julija Hartig (1972). In addition to my job as concertmaster of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, I’m also involved with several ensembles, such as Duo Hartig Broekhans, Roctet, and Ensemble REI. I’m also a co-founder of Podium Splendor and Muziekcollectief LUDWIG. The appeal of this is that it allows me to engage with a wide variety of repertoire.
Since the year 2000, I have had several violins on loan from the Musical Instrument Fund. A great privilege. But when I finally got my hands on “my” Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, I was absolutely over the moon! I remember the first time I was allowed to play this beautiful violin and heard exactly the sound I had always been searching for! I am very grateful to the Music Instrument Fund for finding the instrument that suits me perfectly, thanks to their patience and passion.
