Eduardo Diez García

violin, violin bow

Hello! My name is Eduardo, and I’m from northern Spain. I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember, and the violin quickly became my great passion. I earned my bachelor’s degree in music in Oviedo under Alexei Michlin, and I recently completed my master’s degree in Tilburg under the guidance of Chris Duindam, Jenny Spanoghe, and Lei Wang.

I perform regularly with the Arthema Quartet—feel free to come check out one of our performances!

Ever since the beginning of my bachelor’s program, I’ve been searching for a violin that truly suited me—an instrument to share my life with. After trying out more than two hundred violins, not a single one completely won me over (or fit within my budget). When I applied to the Music Instrument Fund, I discovered this beautiful Capicchioni violin—and I knew right away: this is the one!

A year later, I decided to apply for a bow as well, and I was awarded this fantastic Cuniot-Hury, which allows me to explore and discover new possibilities in my music.

One of my favorite quotes, which I even used as the title for my graduation recital, is “Aut viam inveniam aut faciam.” It means “I will either find a way or make one.” The Musical Instrument Fund has given me tremendous support in forging my own path in the vast world of music.

See you soon!
