Djuna Ostare Dokter

violin bow

Hi there, My name is Djuna Dokter. I was born in March 2007. When I was four, I started taking violin lessons with Johannes Lievaart, and I had a wonderful time there. When I was almost 11, I started studying with Coosje Wijzenbeek and played with the Fancy Fiddlers. Since 2021, I’ve been taking lessons with Wiesje Miedema at the Sweelinck Academy of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Now I’m doing a pre-bachelor’s program in Utrecht with Hebe Mensigma. Besides playing the violin, I also find great joy in staying active; I participate in survival runs in Zeist—it’s a great way to clear my head and start fresh. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family. The violin is truly a passion and a part of who I am—I never want to be without it. I’m so grateful to the Musical Instrument Fund for giving me the opportunity to borrow such a beautiful instrument!!
