Wie ben ik?

Born and raised in Tbilisi, Nino Gvetadze studied with Veronika Tumanishvili, Nodar Gabunia and Nana Khubutia. After her graduation Nino moved to the Netherlands to study with Paul Komen and Jan Wijn. During her studies she received various awards. The most important were the Second Prize, Press Prize and Audience Award at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition 2008. In 2010, Nino Gvetadze received the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. She has performed with the Rotterdam, The Hague, Brussels and Seoul Philharmonic and the Rheinische Philharmonie amongst many other orchestras. She has given recitals in Hannover (PRO MUSICA Preisträger am Klavier-Zyklus), Bayreuth, Berlin, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Taiwan, Korea and China and performed with Jean-Yves Thibaudet at the Spoleto Festival. Highlights of the 2011-12 season include the concerts with Mahler Chamber Orchestra and The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a tour with the Dutch Youth Orchestra in the Netherlands and Italy. Nino has recently recorded a CD titled Widmung with piano works of Liszt. An animation film has been made in which Nino Gvetadze performs Schubert-Liszt’s “Gretchen am Spinnrade”. The film is presented at www.gretchenamspinnrade.com. Nino further recorded the solo piano works by Mussorgsky (Brilliant Classics) and complete Weber Sonatas with violinist Frederieke Saeijs (Naxos). Nino plays on a Steinway Grand Piano, kindly lent to her by the Dutch National Music Instrument Foundation.
