Francisco Javier Lupiáñez Ruiz begins his studies at his home town, Melilla (Spain), where he received several prizes in interpretation and composition.  After a lot of study and practice he got a lot of diplomas, degrees and other papers: modern violin at the Superior Conservatory of Salamanca with Patricio Gutiérrez, master in musicology at the University of Salamanca, graduated as a musical education teacher by the University of Granada and baroque violin with Enrico Gatti at The Royal Conservatory of the Hague. In addition he attended to countless masterclasses with really good teachers, but this will make this text really long. He finished his Master Degree with Enrico Gatti at The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague with distinction discovering new pieces by Vivaldi. His results will be included in the Aggiornamento del Catalogo Vivaldiano of 2015 and in the prestigious publication Studi Vivaldiani in its issue of 2015.

He appeared several times as a solo performer and leader with several groups and orchestras such as the Baroque Orchestra of Salamanca, the European Baroque Academy of Ambronay, Academia Montis Regalis. He is really proud of had shared the stage with artist such as Frans Brüggen, Sigiswald Kuijken, Amandine Beyer, Olivia Centurioni, Enrico Onofri, Enrico Gatti, Peter Van Heyghen, Inés Salinas and many other wonderful people.

Also he plays with other ensembles like New Dutch Academy, Arcade Ensemble, Concerto Barocco, The Eroica Project (playing Beethoven with historical instruments), Orquesta Barroca Conde Duque and Collegium Musicum Den Haag.

He is founder member of the ensemble Les Esprits Animaux, his programming and concert concepts for Les Esprits Animaux has earned recognition from critics and the public. He is also founder and artistic director of the group Scaramuccia. Scaramuccia has performed the world premières of two new Vivaldi pieces in a live concert in the radio program De Musyck Kamer, broadcasted in the Dutch Radio Concertzender in 2014.

Javier develops also an intense work in chamber music playing with several ensembles all around the world. He plays regularly in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Japan and The Netherlands and had recorded for Harmonia Mundi, France Musique, Musiqu3 and Concertzender.

Javier has a baroque violin Verbeek made in 1682 on loan from the collection of The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
