Wie ben ik?

Felicia Hamza, was born nearby Düsseldorf, Germany, 1995, in the family of  Hungarian and German musicians. At the age of six she started having cello lessons with her father.
At the age of 15 she continued her musical education as a young student in the Maastricht Conservatory with Prof. Mirel Iancovici.

Felicia passed a selection to the youth chamber ensemble of the music theater in Gelsenkirchen, Germany as the solo cellist and youngest member and youngest intern at the „Neue Philharmonie Westfalen“. In 2011 she became a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, performing in Europe and Asia under Sir Simon Rattle and other important conductors. In October 2012 she followed an invitation to perform two solo concerts in St Petersburg, Russia, in the same year she started her studies at the Maastricht Conservatory with Prof. Iankovici at the age of 17.

In October 2012 she followed an invitation to perform two solo concerts in St Petersburg, Russia. In the subsequent years she performed the Cello concert by C. Saint Saens with the Floscampi Symphonic Orchestra (NL),  the Cello concert by sir E. Elgar with the Collegium Musicum  of the RWTH Aachen, Germany, aswell with the Rheinisches Orchester Duisburg, the J. Haydn Cello concert in C-major with the Collegium Musicum Rratingen and with the Brunensis Virtuosi Orchstra in Perugia, (IT) under Juri Segal.
In summer 2015 it leads Felicia, as a member of the Chamber music ensemble of the Maastricht Conservatory, to a concert tour through China. n October 2017 she followed an invitation to a concert tour to China together with the Chamber Orchestra of the
Armenian community Maastricht.

Felicia was awarded the first prize (highest score) in the national competition „Jugend muiziert“ in the solo score for Violoncello. First prize winner of the Lions music award 2012, aswell as  the award winner of the Firma Infracor Gelsenkirchen and 3rd prize winner of the „Edomond Baert“ competition in Brussel 2014.

In 2016 she graduated her Bachelor studies with a cum laude in the Conservatory of Maastricht.

She is currently in her second master year studies in the Conservatory of Maastricht.

Im very thankful to have the possibility to play on the Cello which the National Muziekinstrumenten Fondus gave to me. Im so happy to discover this wonderful instrument!
