When can you apply for an instrument from the NMF collection?

Everyone who plays an instrument knows that the quality of the instrument is vitally important for a musician’s personal development and for the maximal expression of one’s musicality. Unfortunately we lack the resources as a foundation to be able to help everybody. For this reason we set requirements concerning the level of playing and take the musician’s musical activities and personal financial circumstances into account. In this way we are able to help those who will benefit the most.

Instruments

The instrument collection consists of violins, violas, celli, double basses, harps, grand pianos, a fortepiano and bows. Modern and authentic instruments.
So no wind instruments. Reason for that is the comparative low purchase price and possibility for musicians to by their own instrument with a loan of Cultuur-Ondernemen. Since 01-01-2010 the NMF joins activity with Cultuur-Ondernemen, where you can apply for a money loan. For more information have a look at Cultuur-Ondernemen.

Bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet
Two wind instruments make an exception, we do have a bass clarinet and a contrabass clarinet. You can use these instruments for shorter projects. For more information, send an email to Geertje van der Linden or call her on 020 6221255.

Bow collections
Besides ‘normal’ bows the NMF collection consists of two special bow collections:
- baroque bows
- classical bows
These bows can be used by individuals or ensembles/ orchestras on a project base. For more information, send an email to or call her on 020 6221255.
